The Westin Paris - Vendôme received The Green Key award in 2009.
The most important of the international hotel accommodation awards, the Green Key acknowledges establishments who meet several environmental criteria established at an international level including general environmental management, waste, water and energy management. The award doesn't only recognize systems which are already in place but also new business practices that are in the development stages, so as to ensure long term environmental sustainability.
Various actions have been taken by management at The Westin Paris - Vendôme to reduce the energy consumption of this 440 bedroom hotel, with some examples being daily consumption checks of water in order for leaks to be repaired rapidly, the replacement of previous light-bulbs with low-consumption and florescent lighting, movement detectors installed in selected back of house areas, waste separation (glass, paper, plastic bottles, packaging) which is collected by city representatives, investment in a compactor that separates and compresses different materials simultaneously, as well as participation in the Starwood Green Program which ensures that guest linen is only changed at the request of the client. In addition, our employees have also formed a Green Team to introduce new projects and promote the existing ones.

The 100% Local is an experience created by Starwood Hotels' & Resorts' Parisian Hotels, which has seen all five head Chefs work together to compose 100% exclusive, 100% local dishes, using only ingredients produced within a 200km radius of Paris. Not only a positive project for the environment, but also a great opportunity to discover some of the best produce of our region and learn more about all the men and women cultivating these products.
Dedicated menus and dishes, as well as our 100% Local Cocktail which is available in the bar, are on the menu at all Parisian properties, who have each introduced their own 100% Local effort influenced by the creativity of their team.
